LAST WEEK:3/5 (60%) CAREER:3/5 (60%)
What a way to start…0/2 Thursday with all winners to finish the week, let’s keep this momentum.
Week 2 CFB
9/7 11:05EST Ohio at Pittsburgh (-5)
Pitt lost soundly to Virginia week 1 in a game that should’ve been closer and Ohio is generating a lot of buzz as a MAC contender. 5 just seems too close for a well coached Pitt team at home coming off of a tough conference loss. I see this as a rebound spot for the Panthers.
Pitt 27 Ohio 13
9/7 3:35EST #12 Texas A&M (+17) at #1 Clemson
Betting against Clemson again….maybe I will never learn. Last year this was an absolutely electric game in College Station that almost resulted in a huge upset. In this spot, I obviously expect Clemson to be firing on all cylinders, but don’t underestimate the coach on the other sideline. Jimbo fisher has his fair share of experience against Dabo and the Tigers and has a stud QB of his own in Junior Kellen Mond. I am a big time Mond believer and think the Aggies will compete until the last whistle in this one.
Clemson 38 TAMU 31
9/7 7:05EST BYU (+4) at Tennessee
I may be a BYU apologist, but this line was simply too juicy not to jump on. The Volunteers are coming off of one of the most embarrassing losses in program history against Georgia St. and I have a hard time seeing them matching BYU’s level of intensity week 2. Although BYU got handled by Utah in their opener, they showed me some grit and sticktoitiveness. Jeremy Prewitt has already proved to be incompetent as the Vols HC and although Kelani Sitake may be on the hot seat as well, his players will scratch and claw for him. Gimme the Cougs and the points.
BYU 21 Tennessee 17
9/7 7:35EST #6 LSU at #9 Texas (+6.5)
Ahhh…the classic LSU overhype. Texas was so overhyped this year they are almost a sleeper at this point. I don’t care if LSU has 4 future 1st round picks on their defense, give me the better QB, Coach, home field advantage and almost a touchdown. This is the first notch in Texas’ playoff run belt.
Texas 28 LSU 22
9/7 10:35EST #23 Stanford (+1.5) at USC
The battle of the backups! I love my late night west coast matchups and this one is prime to be ugly but more importantly fun. USC looked just like a Clay Helton coached team last week when they nearly blew the game in the last quarter vs Fresno St. Obviously it is awful that star QB J.T Daniels went down, but that justifies even further why the Trojans are in for a rough year. Stanford did not look very impressive in their week 1 grind out vs Northwestern but their performance was far more respectable. Backup QB for the Trojans Kedon Slovis looked rattled when he came in relief for Daniels. The Cardinal defense will get after him this week and roll into next weeks matchup vs UCF undefeated.
Stanford 19 USC 13

Syracuse at Maryland, Nebraska at Colorado, Miami at North Carolina
