Detroit Lions Season Predictions

WARNING: INTENSE BIAS AHEAD

Week one is upon us, and the Detroit Lions are kicking off Sunday at 1PM EST at Ford Field against the Arizona Cardinals. The last time the Cardinals came to Detroit was in 2015 and the Lions suffered a 42-17 loss, a game in which Matthew Stafford was benched and the lowest point of the Joe Lombardi experience. It’s important to get off to a hot start, and with his new contract against the team that benched him, Stafford has something to prove. The Lions will win week one 34-26. What will the rest of the year look like?

Games in which the Lions are home they will be listed second.

Week 2: Lions 24, Giants 10

The Giants aren’t as good as you think they are. In another revenge game, I like the Lions in the big apple on Monday Night Football.

Week 3: Falcons 31, Lions 28

The home-field advantage keeps this one close, but the Falcons ultimately are too much for the Lions.

Week 4: Lions 23, Vikings 19

The Lions win their first division game of the year against Riley Reiff and the Vikings.        2-0 at US Bank.

Week 5: Panthers 16, Lions 17

A 55-yd Prater Bomb wins this one for the boys in blue. Cam Newton throws 3 INTs, including one to Jarrad Davis for the rookie’s first pick.

Week 6: Lions 41, Saints 38

The Lions make it 4-0 over the Saints in the past 4 years.

Week 7: BYE

Week 8: Steelers 31, Lions 20

Coming off a bye for this Sunday Night Football showdown is advantageous, but the Steelers are too much to handle for the Lions.

Week 9: Lions 10, Packers 20

The Lions never win at Lambeau.

Week 10: Browns 15, Lions 31

After two games against NFL powers, the Lions beat up on the lowly Browns.

Week 11: Lions 27, Bears 12

The Lions don’t meet with the Bears until week 11, so we’ll see if Trubumsky is starting at this point.

Week 12: Vikings 25, Lions 26

The Thanksgiving magic continues for the Lions and they go 4-0 against the Vikings over the last 2 seasons.

Week 13: Lions 40, Ravens 0

I ain’t worried.

Week 14: Lions 15, Buccaneers 24

The Lions drop a game in the meat of the playoff hunt and we start seeing flashbacks from last season, will they suffer the same fate?

Week 15: Bears 26, Lions 20

Another classic Lions blown game. Home to the Bears. Caldwell will remind us that divisional games are always tough.

Week 16: Lions 27, Bengals 23

Merry Christmas. The Klepp family will be in attendance if the Lions are in the playoff hunt.

Week 17: Packers 10, Lions 31

The Lions claim the division title for the first time in team history.

End Result: 11-5.
